About Sensing Tex

Sensing Tex develops patented textile sensor matrices that turn pressure and touch into digital data. The company combines flexible sensing materials with electronics, software and application engineering, supporting projects from early sensor design through integration and production.

The company is tracked as an adjacent tactile-sensing supplier rather than a robotics platform developer. Its pressure-mapping technology can inform contact, posture and human-interaction systems, while its demonstrated commercial focus remains healthcare, retail, sports, automotive and product-development programmes.

Events

  • 2026-06-16 - Partnership - Sensing Tex joins Coventry-led STAND smart-textile project

The proposed wearable will monitor pressure, temperature and humidity using flexible electronics and data analysis. Coventry University leads the work with partners in the United Kingdom, Turkiye, Poland and Spain, funded by the European Union. Machine learning and explainable models are intended to turn sensor readings into risk signals for patients and clinicians.

  • 2025-08-21 - Capability - Sensing Tex reaches TRL6 with AI4PD posture-recognition system

Supervised models recognise six body postures and identify pressure hotspots from sensor readings converted into images. The repositioning assistant monitors time spent in a posture and supports pressure-ulcer prevention workflows. The team was pursuing co-creation pilots with healthcare institutions after the programme; hospital and home-care rollout remained a development objective.
