Shearwater Aerospace develops Smart Flight autonomy software for uncrewed aircraft operating around difficult weather and terrain. The system combines onboard perception, planning and flight control to help aircraft adapt routes and continue missions when conditions change.

The platform targets inspection, logistics, defence and other dual-use operations that need more onboard decision-making than waypoint flight. Integration work connects vehicle sensors, autopilots and mission payloads, with simulation and flight testing used to validate behaviour. Shearwater raised a US$3 million seed round in February 2026 to commercialise the technology.
