About Skyfly Technologies
Skyfly Technologies is a British aircraft developer based in Thorpe Mandeville. Its flagship Axe is a piloted two-seat electric aircraft that combines vertical take-off with wing-borne cruise. Alongside that civilian programme, the company is developing Longbow, a hybrid-electric uncrewed derivative aimed at defence and government logistics, surveillance and other special missions. The shared architecture uses fixed-angle propulsion rather than tilting motors or rotating wings.
Skyfly’s October 2026 seed financing supports certification work, manufacturing capacity and continued hybrid-propulsion development. Its reported prototype flights and private-customer order book concern the piloted Axe, while Longbow remains a development programme. The company has described UK manufacturing and US flight-test activity, with first Axe customer deliveries planned for 2027. Those civilian milestones provide business context but do not establish uncrewed aircraft deliveries or an operational autonomous fleet.

The hybrid system is designed for in-flight charging, off-grid ground recharging and compatibility with JP8 fuel. Skyfly also opened its electric propulsion technology to other aircraft OEMs. The electric architecture combines an integrated motor-inverter co-developed with SciMo, a power-distribution unit and an in-house battery system.
