Sniffer Robotics provides aerial methane measurement for landfills, renewable-natural-gas plants and other terrestrial facilities. Its Gen II SnifferDRONE payload mounts on a commercial quadcopter and draws air through a weighted hose and nozzle close to the ground, feeding an onboard infrared methane detector while following a programmed survey grid.

Laser terrain following maintains sampling height, and measurements are linked to GPS coordinates three times per second. SnifferView processes the readings into ArcGIS-compatible maps, leak locations and emissions estimates, while a mobile application directs technicians to repair points. The OTM-51 workflow is approved for US and Canadian landfill compliance monitoring and can be repeated over the same paths to measure remediation results.
