SolaNika’s wireless-power approach combines a laser transmitter, a tracking system and a lightweight receiving module carried by the target platform. Image processing follows a moving drone and steers the beam toward it, while the receiver converts the incoming optical energy into electrical power. Receiver weight and tracking accuracy are central parts of the company’s development work.

The intended applications include extending drone operations and supplying power where a cable is impractical, with space-related power delivery also forming part of its longer-term ambition. SolaNika is developing the tracking and conversion hardware together so that energy transfer can follow a vehicle in motion. The company is developing the approach for mobile systems with limited access to conventional charging infrastructure.
