About Stegra

Stegra is developing an integrated steelmaking complex in Boden that combines green-hydrogen production, direct-reduced iron and electric-arc steelmaking. The operating design uses extensive automation, instrumentation and digital control across raw-material handling, process equipment and downstream production.

The company was founded in 2020 as H2 Green Steel and adopted the Stegra name in 2024. By April 2026 it had installed all 37 electrolyser modules for the hydrogen plant, and in June it closed a €1.4 billion financing round. Vale and Rio Tinto are contracted pellet suppliers, while Schaeffler has agreed to buy future strip steel; those materials agreements remain inactive in the robotics graph until exact robot-product use is established.
