About Vitestro

Vitestro's Aletta automates a diagnostic blood draw from tourniquet placement through vein selection, needle insertion, tube changing and inversion, needle withdrawal and bandage application. Near-infrared imaging locates candidate vessels, ultrasound evaluates them and Doppler confirms that the selected target is a vein before the robot positions the needle with submillimetre precision.

A trained supervisor loads the collection tubes and can oversee as many as three devices, while patients receive step-by-step guidance and can pause or stop the procedure. Aletta uses a sterile needle for each draw and stores completed samples inside the unit for staff retrieval. The system is CE-marked for clinical use in the European Union and operates at Dutch hospital trial and early-adopter sites; it is not approved or sold in the United States.
