About XPENG Robotics

XPENG Robotics is organized through Dogotix Inc. and its subsidiaries, including Guangzhou Pengxing Intelligent Technology. The business develops general-purpose humanoid and other interactive robot systems; XPeng's vehicle, robotaxi, flying-vehicle and chip businesses remain outside this perimeter.

IRON integrates a 76-degree-of-freedom body, dexterous hands, in-house motion hardware, three Turing AI chips and an on-device Physical AI model. XPeng targets mass production by the end of 2026, initial use in its stores and campuses, and deliveries in China and overseas markets during 2027.

Profile notes

  • IRON's production battery is reported to have shifted to a semi-solid design

reviewed 2026-09-03 - XPENG presented the next-generation IRON in November 2025 as using an all-solid-state battery. On September 3, 2026, CnEVPost, citing Jipian Lab, reported that XPENG Robotics had instead selected a high-energy solid-liquid hybrid, or semi-solid, pouch-cell design for the production robot because all-solid-state cells were not ready on its manufacturing timetable. The report said an unnamed second-tier Chinese battery manufacturer had been selected as primary supplier while XPENG continued testing alternatives. XPENG had not publicly confirmed the change or identified the supplier when the report was published, so the reported sourcing decision does not establish a named supplier relationship.
