About
About U850 Sirtap
Airbus U850 Sirtap is a 750-kilogram-class tactical remotely piloted aircraft designed for day-and-night operations over land and sea. The first prototype entered ground testing in 2025. Dry wings let the system be disassembled for transport in a C295-class aircraft, while an 800-metre unpaved-runway requirement and operating envelope from -40 to 50 °C support expeditionary deployment.
The aircraft is designed for more than 20 hours of endurance, a ceiling above 21,000 feet and a maximum payload above 180 kilograms. It can carry two mission payloads simultaneously, including an electro-optical/infrared laser-designator turret and radar, with options for maritime radar, automatic identification system, electronic warfare and signals intelligence equipment. Line-of-sight and satellite links, ground-station handover and integration with customer command systems support persistent tactical surveillance.
