E-Series Expanding HASEL Actuators

About

About E-Series Expanding HASEL Actuators

E-Series actuators use electrically driven hydraulic pouches that expand along one axis when high voltage redistributes an internal dielectric fluid. The compliant structure produces smooth linear pushing motion without gears, pneumatic lines or a conventional electromagnetic motor. Stroke, force and stiffness can be configured through pouch geometry, electrical drive and stacked actuator arrangements.

The technology is silent, lightweight and tolerant of impact, supporting haptic surfaces, wearable devices, soft robots and compact mechanisms that must conform around users or objects. Artimus supplies evaluation units and custom actuator configurations adapted to the host mechanism.

Context

Market context

E-Series Expanding HASEL actuators are soft electrohydraulic components that provide compact linear pushing motion for compliant mechanisms, haptics and soft-robotics experiments.

  • Target environment: Research labs, haptics prototypes, soft grippers, compliant mechanisms and compact robotic assemblies.
  • Workflow context: Integrated as actuator components where deformable motion is preferable to rigid motor, pneumatic or hydraulic systems.
  • Customer context: Soft-robotics researchers, haptics developers, end-effector teams and hardware builders evaluating artificial-muscle actuation.
  • Deployment model: Catalog actuator families and partner evaluation rather than complete robot sales.
  • Commercial maturity: Early commercial component family with public model-level force, stroke, size and weight options.
  • Adoption constraints: Adoption depends on drive electronics, voltage handling, durability, control integration, stroke/force fit and manufacturability at the required scale.
  • Market position: Soft-actuation component lane for compliant robotics.
  • Adjacent products: Adjacent to haptics, dexterous hands, soft grippers, wearable robotics and artificial-muscle research.
