Envoy AUV

About

About Envoy AUV

Envoy is available with rechargeable batteries or a 1.2-kilowatt hydrogen fuel cell. The fuel-cell configuration measures 8.5 metres, provides up to 2,000 kilometres of range and operates for approximately 15.4 days. Current depth options reach 1,000, 3,000 or 6,000 metres.

A 500-litre flooded payload bay accepts synthetic-aperture sonar, multibeam sonar, sub-bottom profilers, cameras, magnetometers and environmental sensors. Autonomy options include pipeline tracking, terrain-relative navigation and performance-based mission management. Envoy supports survey, subsea-infrastructure inspection, persistent surveillance and seabed operations.

Timeline

  • Cellula Envoy completes 2,023 km submerged hydrogen-powered trial

2026-04-21 - Capability - The AUV remained submerged for 385 hours, exceeding its published range specification. More than 4,000 turns and manoeuvres increased energy demand compared with straight-line transit. Hydrogen fuel-cell technology developed with Infinity powered the mission, supporting longer intervals between recovery and relaunch.
