About Boxer
Boxer is a current Clearpath Robotics indoor development platform built on the industrial OTTO 100 mobile base. The base supplies locomotion, safety sensing and core vehicle control, while a Clearpath backpack computer provides the environment for user software and payload interfaces. Boxer supports OTTO 100 V2.4 and V2.5-derived systems and exposes the platform through ROS 2, allowing developers to add manipulators, perception hardware or other experimental equipment without designing a mobile base from scratch.
Researchers use the ROS 2 interfaces for teleoperation, mapping, navigation and integration with custom payloads. Safety LiDAR, emergency stops and the industrial drive system allow experiments to move beyond a small laboratory robot while retaining access to the underlying software stack. Boxer sits between a research AMR and a production vehicle: Clearpath supplies a supported, extensible platform, while the customer develops the application, autonomy and upper-body hardware needed for industrial robotics prototypes.
