About
About D3 DesignCore RS-L1432U
D3 DesignCore RS-L1432U is a compact 76–81 GHz radar sensor built around the Texas Instruments AWRL1432. It combines three receive and two transmit channels, 5 GHz bandwidth, a hardware radar accelerator and a 160 MHz Arm Cortex-M4F processor in a roughly one-inch cube with a heatsink.
The module takes 5 V power at up to 1 A and exposes UART through USB-C for benchtop evaluation and proof-of-concept work. Its heatsink and mounting tabs provide a compact packaged starting point for application-specific radar algorithms. The current product configuration has an approximately five-metre detection range; the earlier shared 2023 datasheet gives a 10–20 m forward-human detection rating. D3 offers the sensor on backorder, with fulfillment depending on the exact SKU.

Timeline
- D3 Embedded introduces RS-L1432U automotive radar sensor
2023-08-09 - Product Launch - The sensor packaged a 76–81 GHz, two-transmitter/three-receiver radar in a one-inch body with a heatsink and mounting tabs. An Arm Cortex-M4F at 160 MHz and a radar accelerator processed signals; USB-C provided power and serial output for evaluation. D3 announced a future $299 unit price and listed parking assistance, kick-to-open, collision avoidance and level sensing as intended applications.
