Phantom I-1650

Phantom I-1650 is Deep Ocean Engineering's 1.65-metre, battery-powered unmanned surface vessel for remote water surveying. An integrated moon pool accepts acoustic Doppler current profilers, echo sounders and other third-party sensors. Ethernet and serial channels support instrument integration, while a forward-looking wide-angle HD camera provides a live view to the operator. The modular hull can be supplied with a carbon-fibre or non-corroding aluminium structure.

Two Torqeedo thrusters drive the vessel at up to 1.8 metres per second, with a stated survey speed of 1.3 metres per second. Deep Ocean specifies a 20-kilogram payload, more than 4 hours of operation at survey speed and more than 1.5 hours at top speed. The 36-kilogram craft can be remotely controlled at distances up to 2 kilometres, with mission-planning software and GPS extending the operating model for bathymetry, discharge monitoring, water-quality surveys and harbour inspection.
