Phantom P-150

Phantom P-150 is a portable remotely operated vehicle for visual inspection in pressurised-water-reactor facilities and potable-water systems. Deep Ocean Engineering also positions it for non-destructive-testing support and for locating or retrieving foreign material. The aluminium chassis carries two horizontal and two vertical-translation thrusters, a camera mount with plus-or-minus 90 degrees of tilt, and two standard LED lights with provision for two more.

The submerged unit contains no onboard electronics, limiting exposure of sensitive circuitry in radiation environments and keeping fault isolation at the surface. Its NIS-300 control system supports plug-and-play radiation-tolerant cameras as well as 1080p video, and the system can use up to 500 feet of cable. The vehicle weighs 18 kilograms and measures approximately 64 by 35 by 29 centimetres. Its analogue architecture and specialised camera options distinguish it from general underwater survey vehicles designed around broader payload and autonomy functions.
