About EV50

EV50 is an electric VTOL transport aircraft developed to combine runway-independent launch with efficient fixed-wing movement at extreme altitude. DJI used the platform during a 12-day scientific programme on the northern side of Qomolangma, carrying atmospheric instruments between base camp and higher observation locations across 12 transport sorties.

The missions exercised autonomous route execution, vertical transitions and cargo handling in low temperature, thin air and rapidly changing mountain weather. DJI reported operation at altitudes reaching approximately 8,861 metres and a continuous climb of 3,730 metres. EV50 remains a demonstrated development platform used for high-altitude logistics trials and scientific transport missions.
