About

About SA01

SA01 is ENGINEAI's bipedal research platform for locomotion control. Its development environment links simulated walking-policy training with deployment on the physical robot. ENGINEAI’s Isaac Gym environment includes varied friction and mass, noisy observations and simulated pushes, allowing researchers to test how a walking policy responds to changing conditions.

The software also provides SA01-specific simulation-to-simulation evaluation and an export path for deployment on the robot. Researchers can change training environments, reward functions and robot parameters, then assess the resulting policy before transferring it to hardware. This makes SA01 useful for studying the full locomotion development cycle, including robustness and the gap between simulated and physical behaviour.
