JASPER Robotic Surgery Platform

JASPER is ForSight Robotics’ development-stage platform for ophthalmic surgery. It combines high-precision robotic control, surgical visualization and cognitive data analytics with the aim of augmenting a surgeon’s performance during delicate eye procedures. ForSight presents cataract surgery as an initial clinical focus within a broader ambition to expand access to sight-preserving treatment.

The programme has progressed to a first-in-human fully robot-assisted cataract procedure, but the product remains under development. ForSight states that JASPER has not received FDA clearance and is not commercially available in the United States. Its profile therefore distinguishes demonstrated clinical work from market availability and avoids implying that the system independently diagnoses patients or replaces the surgeon directing the procedure.
