GelSight Mobile Series 2

Measurement begins when the Series 2 probe presses its elastomeric gel against a target surface. The gel conforms to local topology while integrated illumination and imaging capture fine geometry independently of the part’s material, reflectivity, transparency or ambient lighting. Software reconstructs a three-dimensional surface model for dimensional inspection, defect characterization and texture analysis.

The handheld probe weighs 400 grams and measures 5 by 5 by 15.5 centimetres, with a 17.0-by-14.2-millimetre field of view and sub-micron Z sensitivity. Capture takes roughly 100 milliseconds, while the reconstructed model is available within seconds. BASE software emphasizes field-portable imaging, CORE adds three-dimensional export and scratch or offset measurement, and PRO adds roughness, pitting, radius and automated defect tools. Results can be exported as PDF, STL, CSV or TMD files for industrial metrology and quality workflows.
