BetterWay Dual-Arm Sanding Cell

BetterWay Dual-Arm Sanding Cell is a two-robot GrayMatter configuration for sanding large composite components and other substantial manufactured surfaces. Two robots operate from parallel rails around a centre-loading work area, increasing coverage while keeping the abrasive process within a dedicated finishing cell.

The configuration uses GrayMatter’s Scan&Sand workflow: high-fidelity sensors scan each workpiece, generate a model from its measured geometry and plan the sanding process without a separately taught path for every part. Automatic tool and abrasive changes support different finishing stages, while the exact rail length, tooling and part support are configured for the customer’s components and factory layout.
