Scan&Polish

GrayMatter Robotics’ Scan&Polish is an autonomous robotic surface-finishing system for wet and dry polishing across varied part shapes and materials. High-fidelity sensors scan each workpiece and generate a model within minutes, allowing the system to plan around the actual geometry and tolerate non-exact placement. It targets scratch-free finishes on complex manufactured components without requiring a pre-programmed path for every part.

An automatic compound dispenser adjusts material delivery for the polishing stage, while an automatic tool changer switches between larger tools for flatter areas and smaller tools for curved or intricate features. Configurations include a single robot on a rail or pedestal, a dual-arm centre-loading arrangement and a mobile rail option for large surfaces. GrayMatter offers the system with hardware, software, training and support as an integrated factory-floor service.
