ROMULUS
About
About ROMULUS
ROMULUS is HII's modular family of unmanned surface vessels for sustained open-ocean operations. The family uses HII's Odyssey autonomy suite for individual or coordinated control and is designed to accept mission-specific sensors, payloads and effectors. HII identifies intelligence collection, force protection, mine countermeasures and launch or recovery of aerial and underwater vehicles among its intended mission configurations.
The flagship ROMULUS 190 is approximately 190 feet long, is designed to exceed 25 knots and has a stated minimum range of 2,500 nautical miles while carrying four 40-foot ISO containers. Those values describe the 190-foot member, not every ROMULUS vessel; the family also includes the compact ROMULUS 7. Mission payload, endurance and launch-and-recovery capability therefore require exact-variant resolution.
