JF-2

Designed for portable surveillance missions, JF-2 is an electric fixed-wing aircraft that launches by hand. Its EPP-and-composite airframe accepts a stabilised daylight payload with 10-times optical zoom or an uncooled 640-by-480 thermal payload with four-times digital zoom. Through Johnnette's encrypted control software, crews can select manual, automatic, loiter and GPS-assisted flight modes; low battery or lost communications can trigger a return-to-home response.

Published figures give the airframe a 2.2-metre span and 5.5-kilogram mass, with endurance up to 75 minutes and range up to 15 kilometres. The listed cruise and maximum speeds are 45 and 60 kilometres per hour. Its 18,000-foot figure specifically describes the highest launch altitude tested, not a general service ceiling. Payload selection, weather, radio conditions and local operating approval constrain an actual sortie.
