About KoCo

KoCo is Kolektor's mobile collaborative robotic worker for flexible factory automation. The system combines a mobile base, robot arm, worktable and configurable process modules so one platform can move among assembly, handling and inspection stations in a production environment.

Kolektor reported a deployment spanning seven robotic workers and nine workstations. KoCo can set up at a workstation in under ten minutes and self-calibrate to accuracy of up to 0.05 millimetres for the configuration. The physical operation still depends on installed tooling, fixtures, safety integration and a validated task programme.

Timeline

Kolektor scales KoCo robotic worker across nine factory workstations
2021-12-22 - Deployment - Seven KoCo units were deployed across nine workstations at Kolektor KFH, Kolektor Ascom and Kolektor ATP. The mobile collaborative systems were designed to move between tasks, including machine tending and other repetitive small-batch production work. The deployment moved KoCo beyond an internal prototype and demonstrated reuse of one robotic worker across high-mix factory operations.
