iiQWorks

iiQWorks is KUKA's modular engineering suite for constructing a virtual representation of a robot cell before equipment is commissioned. Engineers can import common CAD formats, place robots and peripheral equipment, check reachability and cycle behaviour, and prepare programs away from the production controller. The resulting digital twin supports layout decisions, process validation and later changes without occupying the physical cell for every iteration.

The free Sim Basic tier covers robot configuration, core simulation and shareable 3D presentations. Sim Advanced adds editing and modelling, with separately licensed functions for path or surface processes, offline programming through RCS, virtual robot controllers and links to machines or PLCs. Deployment still requires compatible KUKA hardware and the relevant software options. Simulation quality depends on the accuracy of geometry, process assumptions, controller model and timing inputs.
