About Discovery Collector

Discovery Collector is Lely’s vacuum-based manure robot family for closed and semi-closed dairy-barn floors. It follows programmed routes around cows, gates and milking areas, collects manure into an onboard tank and empties at a fixed station. Front and rear water spraying help collect slurry and maintain floor grip without fixed floor cables or scraper gutters.

The family includes Collector C1 and C2. C2 combines wireless charging, manure dumping and water filling at one station, while a sand-flush accessory can be fitted to either model to clear sand from the tank during dumping. C2 uses a 24 V battery and has a barn-dependent driving capacity of up to 14 hours per day. Routes and cleaning frequency are configured for each barn. In September 2026, Lely reported 10, 000 Collectors sold worldwide; the milestone machine was due to visit exhibitions before installation on its purchaser’s farm.

    2026-09-10 - Commercial Order - The milestone machine was scheduled for livestock-exhibition appearances before installation on the purchaser’s farm. Lely documented assembly of the milestone unit and marked a decade since the vacuum-based collector’s 2016 introduction. The product family collects manure from solid barn floors and transports it to a dumping station, with programmable cleaning routes.

    2024-09-10 - Product Launch - The sand-flush accessory used buffer-tank water to remove sand from the manure tank during dumping and fitted both Collector C1 and C2. Collector C2 combined wireless charging and dumping with a 24 V battery; up to 14 hours of daily driving depended on the barn configuration. The Route Assistant simplified route setup; North American release of C2 and sand flush remained subject to local validation.
