About
About Leo Rover 1.9
Fictionlab’s Leo Rover 1.9 is a compact tracked mobile robot designed as an accessible development platform for outdoor autonomy, inspection, education and field experimentation. Its open software and mechanical architecture lets teams integrate sensors, compute and custom payloads while retaining a ready-to-drive base. The product documentation provides exact platform specifications and supports development workflows spanning teleoperation, navigation, perception and application-specific research without presenting the rover as a finished single-purpose machine.

Timeline
- Leo Rover gains native ROS 2 integration for Fixposition Vision-RTK 2
2026-03-24 - Capability - The integration adds preconfigured ROS 2 launch files while retaining the earlier ROS 1 path. Fictionlab provides a dedicated mounting arrangement and setup workflow for the positioning sensor. The combined system targets centimeter-level RTK positioning for outdoor navigation and mapping.
Source - Fictionlab releases Leo Rover 1.9
2025-05-01 - Product Launch - The onboard computer moves to a 4 GB Raspberry Pi 5, increasing available compute for perception and autonomy workloads. A new passive-cooling enclosure replaces the previous fan arrangement, reducing moving parts while managing the higher-performance computer. USB-C charging and refreshed ROS 2 software support simplify field power and modern robotics-stack integration.
