About LineDrone DLR

LineDrone DLR is Drone Volt's aircraft system for installing Ampacimon Sense X dynamic-line-rating sensors on energised overhead conductors. The protected multirotor lands on the line and positions the sensor without a shutdown or a technician handling the live conductor, reducing installation time and exposure during grid-modernisation work.

The system supports single through quadruple conductor bundles with diameters from 16 to 40 millimetres and lines up to 765 kilovolts. Its airframe and communications are hardened for strong electromagnetic fields, and LineDrone Station software supports mission control from Android or Windows devices. Once installed, Sense X returns conductor temperature, sag, current and vibration data to utility monitoring and SCADA systems.
