About
About Power Tether
Power Tether is a ground-powered tether system for Lucid Bots Sherpa Drone 1 and 1.5. The air module mounts in the drone's battery bay, a 200-foot cable links it to the ground station, and the ground station connects to a compatible generator. Installation takes less than 15 minutes on a prepared Sherpa.
Lucid Bots commercially launched the system on September 1, 2026 after an eight-hour-and-48-second continuous-flight test at its headquarters. Firmware monitors power draw and limits altitude as current rises; if ground power fails, the onboard battery supports an automatic landing rather than continued operation.

2026-09-01 - Product Launch - The air module mounts in the Sherpa battery bay and the ground station connects to a compatible generator; installation takes less than 15 minutes on Sherpa Drone 1 or 1.5. A headquarters test kept a Power Tether-equipped Sherpa airborne for eight hours and 48 seconds on one generator connection with no battery swaps. Lucid reported more than 8,760 cumulative flight hours across 600-plus connected Sherpa drones as of August 17; that fleet total is not a single continuous or exclusively tether-powered flight.
