Midcentury Matrix

About

About Midcentury Matrix

Matrix turns deployment conditions into digital twins for physical-AI development. Its agentic workflow combines conventional simulators with learned physics, then distributes large scenario sets across GPU infrastructure so teams can evaluate robot policies against varied environments and failure conditions.

Failures can be replayed, converted into additional tests and fed back into training data, linking simulation directly with real-world experience. Midcentury announced the platform in September 2026 alongside its large-scale egocentric-data programme. Matrix remains in a request-based early-access phase for development and evaluation users and is not yet generally commercially available.

2026-09-22 - Funding - The company says its egocentric dataset spans more than two million hours across over 50 environments and 20,000 tasks. Matrix is positioned for cloud-scale robot-policy evaluation and post-training and remains available through an early-access request programme. The team cites prior work across Stanford AI Lab, OpenAI, DeepMind, NVIDIA and Scale AI; the announcement did not name investors.
