NEST
About
About NEST
NEST is XTEND's portable docking station for launching, recovering and charging compatible unmanned aircraft. It supports remotely managed missions by sheltering the aircraft, automating turnaround and connecting field deployment with XTEND's control software.
NEST supplies the field infrastructure around a compatible aircraft. Supported drone models, battery handling, weather protection and mission continuity depend on the selected NEST and aircraft configuration.

Timeline
- AM General announces XTEND aerial-robot integration for its autonomous UGV
2026-10-09 - Capability - The UGV carries the XOS-powered NEST launch pod and is set to display a SCORPIO 1000 system for reconnaissance in complex or GPS-denied environments. The JLTV A2 display will combine the Samson 30 mm remote weapon station with Iron Wasp, an autonomous counter-drone system carried by the vehicle. The configurations are scheduled for AUSA on October 12–14 in Washington, D.C.; NEST provides a mobile launch point that moves aerial robots closer to the mission area.

2025-10-10 - Partnership - The vehicle was configured to deploy, launch and recover XTEND Defense’s human-guided autonomous drone systems. A separate SPEAR UAV Viper 300 integration was intended for precision-strike and beyond-line-of-sight missions. TriEye short-wave infrared imaging supported perception in adverse visibility conditions.
