About

About EVK4 HD

Prophesee EVK4 HD is a 1280-by-720 event-based vision evaluation camera built around Sony’s IMX636 sensor. The 30-by-30-by-36-millimetre aluminium housing weighs 40 grams and uses a C/CS lens mount. USB 3 Type-C provides both data and power, while a synchronization interface supports multi-sensor experiments.

The camera records changes in scene brightness as asynchronous events, allowing developers to study fast motion and high-dynamic-range scenes without conventional full-frame capture. It integrates with Prophesee’s Metavision software suite for visualization, filtering and algorithm development. The kit is intended for evaluation and integration work across robotics, industrial vision and other motion-sensitive perception systems.

  • Event-Based Visual Teach-and-Repeat via Fast Fourier-Domain Cross-Correlation

2025-09-21 - Research Publication - A visual teach-and-repeat navigation method matches event-camera observations with recorded routes using Fourier-domain cross-correlation. Queensland University of Technology researchers tested a Prophesee EVK4 HD mounted on an AgileX Scout Mini across indoor and outdoor routes in daytime and nighttime conditions. The work includes a ROS implementation and recordings from the experiments.
