About Valox 1500

Valox 1500 is a Pratt & Whitney propulsion programme for collaborative and semi-autonomous military aircraft. The engine is being developed through a digital engineering workflow that models performance, thermal behaviour, manufacturing and integration before complete hardware testing. The architecture targets the thrust, cost and production requirements of attritable or lower-cost combat aircraft.

Pratt & Whitney completed a comprehensive digital-design assessment in July 2026 and is progressing toward ground testing. The United States Air Force is supporting the programme through a development award valued at more than $10 million. Valox 1500 remains an engine-development programme and has not entered production.
