Ekinox-E

Ekinox-E is a tactical-grade inertial navigation unit that combines three MEMS accelerometers and three MEMS gyroscopes with measurements from an external GNSS receiver. Its extended Kalman filter maintains orientation, position and heave estimates as satellite reception changes, while selectable air, land and marine motion profiles tune the processing for different vehicles. Odometers and Doppler velocity logs can also provide aiding inputs.

With suitable external GNSS equipment, SBG specifies RTK horizontal position accuracy of 0.01 metres plus 0.5 parts per million, roll and pitch of 0.015 degrees and heading of 0.04 degrees. The unit provides Ethernet, serial and CAN interfaces, time synchronisation, an 8-gigabyte logger and outputs up to 200 hertz. Its IP68 enclosure operates from -40 to 75 degrees Celsius. Final navigation performance depends on antennas, aiding sensors, installation, dynamics and signal conditions as well as the inertial unit.
