Scout 137 Gen 3
About
About Scout 137 Gen 3
Scout 137 Gen 3 is a tethered inspection drone for dark, GPS-denied industrial spaces. A 60-metre cable carries both power and data, giving unlimited flight time without an onboard battery or radio link. The three-kilogram aircraft fits through a 600-millimetre opening and uses 128-beam lidar, SLAM and 12,000-lumen lighting to map and inspect enclosed assets.
Hot-swap bays support a 4K zoom camera, gas sensor, lidar and optional ultrasonic-thickness payload. Auto Surface Scan, Auto Line Scan and Distance Lock execute repeatable geometry while the pilot supervises from a tablet. Captures are position-tagged in the live point cloud and can be reviewed in Scout Portal, supporting tank, tunnel, mine, power-generation and offshore inspection workflows without confined-space entry.

Timeline
- Beam Global signs approximately $24 million ScoutDI acquisition agreement
2026-10-06 - Acquisition - Beam plans to manufacture ScoutDI systems in its U.S. and European factories while retaining ScoutDI's sales, engineering and manufacturing facilities. ScoutDI serves customers in 30 countries; its Scout Portal software generates recurring subscription revenue. Scout 137 Gen3 has conditional U.S. defence approval tied to an onshoring plan and further government vetting; Nicolai Husteli will continue leading ScoutDI.
Source - ScoutDI introduces its next-generation Scout 137 inspection drone
2025-06-16 - Product Launch - A 128-beam lidar supports navigation and mapping, while a 3.5× optical zoom camera supports stand-off visual inspection. The ultrasonic payload combines surface preparation and thickness measurement during one docking. The platform adds an extended tether range of up to 60 metres, a revised pilot interface and easier field servicing.
