About Avidrone

Avidrone is a compact electric quadrotor developed by Skydrone Robotics with Enedis for installing FireFly bird-warning markers on live high-voltage lines. The aircraft has a maximum takeoff weight below four kilograms, carries a dedicated placement tool above its frame and uses forward- and upward-facing cameras to help the pilot judge the cable approach.

Operators pre-plan marker positions in the ground station, typically at 15-metre intervals, and transmit the flight plan to the aircraft. Avidrone positions itself near the selected point before the pilot manually completes the final approach and triggers the spring-loaded marker clamp. Flights are conducted within visual line of sight, with the pilot positioned within 150 metres.
