Skylark I-LEX

About

About Skylark I-LEX

Skylark I-LEX is Elbit Systems’ electrically propelled, man-portable fixed-wing mini UAS for covert reconnaissance by manoeuvring forces. It has a 7.5-kilogram takeoff weight, three-hour endurance, 15,000-foot service ceiling and 40-kilometre range. A stabilised payload supplies day-and-night video, while onboard processing supports target tracking, moving-target indication, georegistration and image mosaicking.

The aircraft is autonomous from takeoff through its mission and landing, and an airborne airbag enables point recovery without ground reception equipment. Two operators can deploy it from a vehicle or as a man-packed system, using an encrypted digital link and interfaces to C4I, remote-video terminals and commander stations. I-LEX remains the conventional fixed-wing member of this pair; the runway-independent vertical-lift kit belongs to Skylark I-eVTOL.
