About Magellan
SmartDrone Magellan is an integrated multirotor survey platform combining an Ouster OS1-128 lidar, a 12.3-megapixel Sony global-shutter camera and GNSS/INS positioning. The aircraft weighs about five kilograms, operates at a typical survey height of 80 metres and records up to 5.2 million lidar points per second.
Automated mission planning targets land-survey teams that need repeatable lidar and photogrammetry capture without assembling a separate payload stack. Maximum flight time is 39 minutes, with up to 45 minutes of hover time and a two-kilometre communication range. Coverage depends on overlap settings, reaching 150 acres without orthophoto overlap and 71 acres with it.
