About

About soma one desktop

soma one desktop is SOMA Robotics' fixed-base bimanual platform for bench-top manipulation research. It uses two six-degree-of-freedom arms, each with 620 millimetres of reach and a rated 1.5-kilogram payload, mounted on a stable tabletop base rather than the wheeled platform used by soma one.

The system supports the same soda OS environment for teleoperation, demonstration recording, policy development and control at up to 500 hertz. Its fixed installation is intended for repeatable laboratory experiments where mobile navigation is unnecessary. SOMA began offering the desktop configuration in September 2026 alongside its mobile model.
