About LT2/F Bloodhound
LT2/F Bloodhound is a low-profile tracked robot for inspecting hazardous, hostile or concealed spaces while its operator remains at a distance. Forward and rear infrared cameras provide video in low light, and two-way audio supports observation and communication. The LT2-F version adds driven rear flipper arms that lift the chassis onto obstacles, assist with stair climbing and stabilise the vehicle on steep pitches. Its open platform can also carry mission-specific sensing equipment.
The complete vehicle weighs 57 pounds and measures 27 by 19 by 7 inches, or 15 inches high with its camera installed. Ground clearance is two inches, rated speed is 1.25 miles per hour and operating time reaches eight hours. The LT2-F completed a series of NIST mobility tests. Radio choice, terrain, payload, camera configuration and battery condition determine the usable control range and endurance of an individual system.
