About Tactical Dronut
Tactical Dronut was Cleo Robotics’ rugged prototype small uncrewed aircraft programme for the US Army. Announced in 2022 as TacDronut, it adapted the company’s ducted, impact-tolerant Dronut architecture for intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance in buildings, tunnels and other enclosed spaces.
The Army’s Rapid Capabilities and Critical Technologies Office awarded the programme a $2.5 million prototyping contract after an Army Innovation Day evaluation. Cleo described onboard intelligence and sensor payloads intended to reduce operator workload, with prototype demonstration and transition work involving the 82nd Airborne Division.
