MetriCal

About

About MetriCal

MetriCal calibrates the intrinsic and spatial relationships between cameras, lidar, inertial sensors and other perception hardware. The software estimates lens parameters, sensor positions, timing offsets and motion relationships from recorded datasets and produces machine-readable calibration results.

Production workflows automate data validation, calibration execution and pass-fail checks across repeated sensor assemblies. Tangram Vision supplies APIs and deployment tools for factories, robotics laboratories and vehicle-development teams requiring consistent calibration across fleets and hardware revisions.

Timeline

  • Tangram Vision releases MetriCal 18 with robotic hand-eye calibration

2026-07-15 - Capability - The release estimates time offsets across streaming sensors and offers optional rolling-shutter compensation. Random-grid target detection supports patterns of large and small circles arranged on a regular grid. Tangram measured average end-to-end processing 2.4 times faster than version 17 across its calibration-guide datasets.
