About XiaoLiu
XiaoLiu is a wheeled semi-humanoid research robot developed by Tencent Robotics X for physical assistance and care-related interaction. The upper body combines articulated arms with force, tactile and visual sensing, while the mobile base provides stable movement between users and work areas. Multimodal feedback allows the controller to regulate contact during close physical tasks.
At WAIC 2026, Tencent demonstrated the robot reproducing massage trajectories and pressure learned from human examples. The programme is extending this work into elder-care and service experiments requiring safe, compliant contact. XiaoLiu remains a research platform and is not a disclosed commercial product.
