XiaoLiu

XiaoLiu is a research robot developed by Tencent Robotics X for human interaction and physical assistance. It extends the laboratory's care-oriented XiaoWu programme with an updated design using tendon transmission and humanlike motion. The work focuses on robots that can operate in close contact with people.

Tencent first showed XiaoLiu publicly at the 2026 World Artificial Intelligence Conference in July. It follows XiaoWu, introduced in 2024, as a new demonstrator within the laboratory's robotics programme. XiaoLiu remains a research platform for studying assistance and interaction, with its hardware and control developed together for that role.
