About
About ping200X
An integrated unmanned aircraft uses ping200X to answer secondary-surveillance interrogations and broadcast its identity, position and altitude on 1090 MHz. The unit combines a Level 2els Class 1 Mode S transponder, Class B1S extended-squitter transmitter and TSO-C88b pressure-altitude encoder. Its TSO approvals and DO-260B conformity support cooperative visibility to air traffic control, TCAS and ADS-B receivers in controlled airspace.
The current Rev H sheet lists a 47-by-54-by-9-millimetre enclosure, 50-gram mass and 1.5-watt continuous power draw from a 9-to-30.3-volt supply. UCP, GDL90+ and MAVLink interfaces connect the transponder to control, position and autopilot systems. Pairing it with a suitable certified GPS source such as truFYX supplies the position integrity needed for a complete ADS-B Out installation; antenna placement and aircraft approval remain integration responsibilities.
Timeline
- ping200X receives FAA TSO certification
2021-04-07 - Regulatory - The certification covers the exact ping200X transponder for Mode S and 1090 MHz ADS-B Out operation. The 45–50 gram avionics unit was developed for integration into unmanned aircraft with constrained size, weight and power budgets. Certification supports use of ping200X in controlled-airspace integrations requiring recognised surveillance avionics.
