BLIP
About
About BLIP
BLIP is a drone-identification and tracking device that sends flight data through two channels. During flight, it transmits updates once per second to Unifly cloud services over LTE and broadcasts the same information over Bluetooth Low Energy. The data includes aircraft and operator identification, position, altitude, heading and speed.
The unit has its own power source and sensors, allowing it to be attached to an aircraft as separate equipment. If the LTE connection drops, BLIP caches flight data and synchronises it after connectivity returns. This combines nearby identification broadcasts with a longer-range monitoring record, feeding Unifly's operator-monitoring interface during and after the flight.
Context
Market context
