XOS

About

About XOS

XOS separates mission behaviour from the underlying aircraft, ground robot or maritime platform. Operators define the objective and supervise execution, while the software manages navigation, coordination, payload use and responses to changing conditions across one or several connected machines.

The operating system supports one-to-many control and operation in GPS-denied, jammed and cluttered environments. XTEND combines onboard autonomy with an operator interface that keeps people responsible for mission direction while reducing the continuous manual piloting required across heterogeneous fleets.

  • XTEND wins $40.5M order for 6,000 STRIKER systems

2026-10-13 - Contract Award - STRIKER uses XTEND XOS for tactical missions in confined, complex and GNSS-denied environments. Gauntlet II awardees can advance to Gauntlet III in their selected mission set after fulfilling a 400-system production order; further Phase 3 awards are not guaranteed. This Drone Dominance Program award is separate from XTEND’s September 23 USSOCOM MKLD Phase III award.

  • AM General announces XTEND aerial-robot integration for its autonomous UGV

2026-10-09 - Capability - The UGV carries the XOS-powered NEST launch pod and is set to display a SCORPIO 1000 system for reconnaissance in complex or GPS-denied environments. The JLTV A2 display will combine the Samson 30 mm remote weapon station with Iron Wasp, an autonomous counter-drone system carried by the vehicle. The configurations are scheduled for AUSA on October 12–14 in Washington, D.C.; NEST provides a mobile launch point that moves aerial robots closer to the mission area.

  • XTEND granted U.S. patent for XOS smart-payload mission control

2026-09-22 - Regulatory - A payload adaptor links the payload with the controller so XOS can translate its signals into platform responses. The architecture also covers display changes and mission-specific behaviour beyond navigation. The company connects the architecture with its Generic Payload Hub and XOS Marketplace for third-party hardware and software.

  • XTEND named Gauntlet II top performer in close quarters battle

2026-09-16 - Market Signal - The result followed delivery and warfighter-evaluated demonstration of 120 STRIKER systems in operationally realistic scenarios. STRIKER is powered by XTEND's XOS operating system and is designed for tactical missions in confined, complex and GNSS-denied environments. All ten companies selected for Gauntlet II are finalists for prototype contracts, with awards not guaranteed.
