About Glidance
Glidance is developing Glide as a primary mobility aid for blind and low-vision users. The device has two all-terrain wheels and an adjustable telescoping handle; the user nudges it forward while its steering guides travel through indoor and outdoor pedestrian spaces.
Glide is designed to maintain a line, avoid ground-level and overhead hazards, locate targets such as doors, elevators and stairs, and assist with road crossings. Tactile, haptic and audio cues provide information while the user moves, and the company describes over-the-air software updates and fleet-based AI learning. The product is offered through a waitlist and remains in an early pre-mass-market stage.

Glidance raised $1.5 million to develop Glide, its autonomous mobility aid for blind and low-vision people. The round was led by Investors Capital Group, with participation from KARR Ventures and investors from the blind and low-vision community. Glidance said the capital would support engineering, product development and expansion of its Seattle team.
