About Glide Personal Mobility Device

Glide is Glidance’s wheeled mobility aid for blind and low-vision users, guided through an adjustable handle while the user walks under their own power. Cameras and depth sensing detect obstacles and targets such as doors and elevators. Steering guides the user along a path, while audio and haptic cues communicate surrounding conditions; the device brakes when the path is blocked.

At a marked crossing, Glide aligns the user and stops before the curb. The user decides when to cross, after which the device helps maintain direction. Its collapsible structure supports transport, and eight-inch wheels accommodate sidewalks and accessible trails. Turn-by-turn route guidance is planned through software updates. As of September 2026, Glidance is taking waitlist registrations for orders to reopen.
