Red Cat completes acquisition of Apium Swarm Robotics
Red Cat acquired Apium Swarm Robotics to add platform-agnostic distributed control for autonomous drone and uncrewed-surface-vessel swarms across its family of systems.

Evidence notes
- Apium continues to operate as an independent Red Cat company.
- The autonomy stack supports decentralised coordination in GPS- and communications-degraded environments.
- The companies had previously demonstrated multi-agent missions through Red Cat’s Futures Initiative.
Company context
Apium Swarm Robotics develops distributed autonomy for drones, uncrewed surface vessels and other robotic platforms. Its platform-agnostic stack lets heterogeneous systems divide roles, coordinate and adapt without a central master or continuous operator input, including in GPS- and communications-degraded environments. Acquired by Red Cat in March 2026, Apium continues to operate independently while integrating across Red Cat’s unmanned systems.
