About AROTEC
AROTEC Automation und Robotik engineers custom production and handling cells from concept through ready-to-operate handover. Its systems cover palletising and depalletising, bin picking, sensitive assembly, grinding, plasma cutting and other metalworking tasks. A typical cell combines a six-axis industrial arm, application-specific gripper, safety equipment, controls and the software needed to identify parts and plan movement.
ART-3D converts point clouds from a three-dimensional vision sensor into object positions and grasp choices, then plans a collision-free extraction path in the robot's joint space. This lets cells separate randomly arranged cast, forged or stamped parts, cartons, containers, tyres and frozen bakery products. AROTEC also supplies dedicated PALGO and DEPALGO software for pallet and tyre workflows, and supports force-torque sensing for joining and finishing. The Augsburg integrator designs the process, end effector and interfaces around each customer's products and upstream control system.
Timeline
Events
- 2024-07-17 - Award - AROTEC receives Quality - Made in Augsburg award
Managing director Norbert Cottone received the certificate at Augsburg City Hall on July 9, 2024. The city assessed innovation, wider market recognition and product or service distinctiveness. The award has recognized locally rooted companies for quality and economic engagement since 2014.
Source - 2024-02-08 - Partnership - AROTEC starts automated hybrid 3D-printing research project
The project joined AROTEC with 3d Activation and the wbk Institute for Production Science. A modular line covered printing, component insertion and post-processing from CAD-based planning. AROTEC led machine-learning path planning and sensor development for quality control.
Source - 2023-06-13 - Product Launch - AROTEC introduces TirePal and TireDepal for automated tyre logistics
TirePal automated tyre loading while TireDepal automated unloading from logistics carriers. Dedicated palletizing and depalletizing software formed the core of the two systems. The product family targeted repetitive manual handling in tyre logistics operations.
Source - 2023-06-13 - Product Launch - AROTEC launches RimDepal for mixed wheel depalletizing
RimDepal handled 14-to-24-inch wheels in multiple picks from common EWPS pallets. A 3D vision sensor located wheels precisely even when different sizes were mixed. A dedicated separation station removed protective film and fleece from plastic interlayers.
Source - 2023-06-13 - Product Launch - AROTEC introduces RoboBakery robotic baking station
The robot picked unordered frozen products from a container and arranged them on baking trays. It loaded the oven and also applied salt for pretzel products. One configuration handled croissants, rolls, pretzels, baguettes and bread without retooling.
Source - 2023-06-13 - Product Launch - AROTEC launches RoboMill for autonomous milling-machine tending
RoboMill stored pallets of mixed raw material and localized and measured every workpiece. The robot aligned stock, loaded the mill and generated a CNC program for each job. Finished pallets returned to storage, enabling extended autonomous operation around the clock.
Source - 2023-05-25 - Partnership - AROTEC becomes certified Photoneo system integrator in DACH
AROTEC became a certified Photoneo system integrator for Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Photoneo supplied patented 3D scanning and machine-vision technology for robot-guided handling. AROTEC planned to use the scanners across its vision-based robotic automation applications.
